Wastewater General Information

Our Wastewater Department is an integral part of the Public Works Department, dedicated to ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our community's wastewater treatment plant and collection system. We understand the importance of protecting our environment and public health by responsibly managing wastewater.

The Wastewater Team

Our Wastewater Supervisor and 2 certified operators work together seamlessly to ensure the integrity and smooth operation of our wastewater treatment plant and collection system. Through their combined expertise, they meet regulatory standards, prioritize environmental protection, and guarantee the health and well-being of our community. Together, they form a skilled and dedicated team that is committed to delivering reliable wastewater services and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.

The Budget

To sustain our operations and address critical infrastructure needs, the Wastewater Department operates under four distinct funds. The Enterprise Fund primarily relies on contributions from wastewater utility rate payers. This funding is supplemented by the Wastewater Development Fund, Wastewater Bond Redemption Fund, and Wastewater Reserve Fund.

In FY 2020/21, we conducted a comprehensive Rate Study and implemented new rates. These rates were carefully designed to ensure the financial sustainability of our operations, support ongoing maintenance and operations, fund long-overdue capital improvements, and establish appropriate reserves.
